HIGHLANDER Adventure Central Coast event is designed for people new to hiking and hike/camping. The 1DAY adventure allows you to experience a day of HGIHLANDER Adventure without travelling too far and without the need for camping equipment. In the 1DAY+CAMP and 2DAY, we create the ideal first-time overnight camping experience - convenient, accessible, and totally immersive.

The campground will be located on pristine private bushland, walking distance from your vehicle and 100meters from the start and finish of each day. Get ready to experience the HIGHLANDER Adventure festival-like campground, including activities, workshops and world-class coffee available on site.

The Central Coast HIGHLANDER Adventure takes place on coastal trail through Bouddi National Park and it is generally graded between Grade 2 and Grade 3 (Moderate) under Australian Walking Track Grading System. The terrain includes beaches, technical single track, fire trails, undulating ascents and descents, rocky sections and forestry trails. The 1DAY Adventure is ideal for Beginners, whereas the 2DAY adventure is not suited for beginner hikers and requires basic level of hiking fitness.

Minors are permitted at the event with a parent/guardian. Please download the document attached below, complete the document with the necessary information and save it as a PDF. Once you complete the registration and the payment for a parent/guardian and a minor, please, contact the organizer at experience@highlanderadventure.com.au to send the PDF file and get further instructions.

Packing and clothing will depend on the Adventure you choose and the location. In April, the Central Coast usually experiences mild days and cooler evenings, with the possibility of rain. Temperature usually range from around 13°C to 24°C. To stay comfortable, we recommend preparing for a mix of weather conditions. You’ll receive a full gear list once you have registered.

We provide delicious, nutritious and high end camping-style food for our event. We proudly partner with Offgrid Provisions who cooks real food and packed fresh with no preservatives in camping-friendly packs. There are a range of flavour including vegan and gluten free options which will be distributed at checkpoints. There is a specific field in the registration form that includes diet preferences. We all have unique eating habits and feel full at different rates so if you think you need additional food or have a special diet please bring it with you.

All participants should be physically prepared to complete the route comfortably. If you’re new to physical activity or hiking, we recommend getting active during the month leading up to your HIGHLANDER Adventure. For the 2DAY Adventure, if you want to experience carrying a multiday pack, make sure you gradually train with weight in your backpack. Before attending, you should be comfortable carrying an overnight pack over a distance of 10–15 km. Start by training with 8–10 kg and gradually increase to 15–16 kg. Also ensure that you can walk comfortably in your backpacking shoes and take the time to break them in before the event.
